Improving Sybil Detection via Graph Pruning and Regularization Techniques

Due to their open and anonymous nature, online social networks are particularly vulnerable to Sybil attacks. In recent years, there has been a rising interest in leveraging social network topological structures to combat Sybil attacks. Unfortunately, due to their strong dependency on unrealistic assumptions, existing graph-based Sybil defense mechanisms suffer from high false detection rates. I...

Accurate and Efficient Gesture Spotting via Pruning and Subgesture Reasoning

Gesture spotting is the challenging task of locating the start and end frames of the video stream that correspond to a gesture of interest, while at the same time rejecting non-gesture motion patterns. This paper proposes a new gesture spotting and recognition algorithm that is based on the continuous dynamic programming (CDP) algorithm, and runs in real-time. To make gesture spotting efficient...

Graph Convolutional Neural Networks via Scattering

We generalize the scattering transform to graphs and consequently construct a convolutional neural network on graphs. We show that under certain conditions, any feature generated by such a network is approximately invariant to permutations and stable to graph manipulations. Numerical results demonstrate competitive performance on relevant datasets.

Approximate fast graph Fourier transforms via multi-layer sparse approximations

The Fast Fourier Transform (FFT) is an algorithm of paramount importance in signal processing as it allows to apply the Fourier transform in O(n logn) instead of O(n) arithmetic operations. Graph Signal Processing (GSP) is a recent research domain that generalizes classical signal processing tools, such as the Fourier transform, to situations where the signal domain is given by any arbitrary gr...

Efficient Graph Packing via Game Colouring

The game colouring number gcol(G) of a graph G is the least k such that, if two players take turns choosing the vertices of a graph, then either of them can ensure that every vertex has fewer than k neighbours chosen before it, regardless of what choices the other player makes. Clearly gcol(G) Δ(G) + 1. Sauer and Spencer [20] proved that if two graphs G1 and G2 on n vertices satisfy 2Δ(G1)Δ(G2)...
